Taking care of your Succulent Bowl arrangement
Sunlight is the most important factor in the succulent care routine. Succulents need plenty of light — up to six hours of sun per day, depending on the type of plant. Young succulents are however at risk of burning when being exposed to too much direct light. A safe option is to place your succulents in a warm spot that receives filtered or indirect sunlight throughout the day, ideally a south-facing or east-facing window. As your succulents grow bigger and stronger, you could introduce them to more direct sunlight. Remember to rotate your succulents every now and then to ensure all sides of the plant receive enough light. If you notice your succulent leaning toward the side, it may be a sign that it is longing for more light on that particular side.
When taking care of your succulent bowl arrangement, it is very important to not overwater them. Succulents are drought-resistant and can go without water for weeks at a time. During warmer months, water once a week at most. Monitor the top layer of the soil and only water again once the top 2-3 cm has dried out. Water the soil directly — do not let water sit on top of the leaves and do not spray the plant with a misting bottle. Be sure to use planting pots with draining holes at the bottom to avoid water buildup, which can lead to root rot.
In terms of general maintenance, the only thing you really need to do with succulents is keeping the plant clean. As with all indoor plants, succulents can gather dust from their surroundings, which will make the leaves appear dull and faded. Use a slightly damp cloth to gently wipe the dust off the leaves.
